Prolific, upright flower spikes support pea-like flowers above a dense, wide habit. Large, round seed pods follow the flowers to add interest to the fall/winter garden. Baptisia thrives with little maintenance. False Indigo is very long-lived once established. The foliage does die back to the ground completely each winter; however, the mature plants provide a shrub-like appearance and provide a lovely backdrop to any summer or fall garden.
