Alocasia ‘Blackout’

Mythic ‘Blackout’ is an enigmatic Alocasia zebrina with arrowhead shaped leaves of deep green atop dark, nearly obsidian stems. Like other alocasias, ‘Blackout’ thrives in medium to high levels of indirect light and plenty of humidity. Avoid placing your ‘Blackout’ in a sunny location with direct light; instead, locate it in the shadows, and watch nature’s noir unfurl.

• Light Requirements: Bright, Indirect
• Water Requirements: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top 2-3 inches to dry before watering. Reduce watering significantly during winter. Use filtered water if your tap is hard. 
• Soil Requirements: Well-draining soil is key. Prefers a mix of orchid bark, perlite, coco coir and potting soil to achieve both good aeration and moisture retention.
