All hail the princess! Reigning supreme amongst plant enthusiasts everywhere is a gorgeous philodendron that offers both variegation and a pretty pink pop of color. Behold ‘Pink Princess’, with her dark green, nearly black leaves atop red-tinged stems, and splashes of lovely light pink variegation. ‘Pink Princess’ is a climbing philodendron. Given structure to climb, like a moss pole, she has the potential to send out aerial roots and grow leaves that are even more grand than they started.

  • Watering: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy. Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot.

  • Soil: Well-draining, aerated potting mix with peat, perlite, and orchid bark is ideal.

  • Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer at half strength. Reduce feeding in fall/winter.

  • Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50%+). Misting, pebble trays, or a humidifier help maintain vibrant pink variegation.

  • Pruning: Trim leggy or damaged stems to encourage bushier growth. Remove yellowing leaves.

  • Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings with visible nodes; roots well in water or soil.
