To grow rosemary, plant it in a location that receives at least six to eight hours of full sun daily and in well-draining, sandy or loamy soil. Water rosemary only after the soil has completely dried out between waterings, as it prefers dry conditions and is susceptible to root rot if kept too wet. You can start rosemary from nursery transplants or from cuttings, as seeds have a low germination rate and are very slow to grow.
